As a member of the competitive team you have made a huge commitment. Gymnasts are required to attend all practices, all scheduled meets, and take dance a minimum of one class per week. ATTENDANCE Class attendance is mandatory and expected by the coaches. If you cannot attend, you must call the gym and let us know. Meet Attendance is mandatory! You are required to attend all scheduled meets of the regular season as well as the sectional, state and regional meets if you qualify. If you cannot attend a meet you must notify the gym in writing six weeks prior to the meet. Otherwise you will be responsible for all meet fees. FEES Monthly fees for team gymnastics and dance are due by the first day of the month. The late payment fees are as follows: $5.00 fee if payment is received
after the first class of the month; Meet fees will be determined at
the beginning of the competitive season (sometime in September) and are payable
in two installments. An account will be kept for each gymnast and all
unused monies will be returned at the season end Meet fee costs are determined by dividing the amount equally by the number of gymnasts who attend. If meets are too expensive per gymnast (too few girls attending), we do not attend that meet. That is why the 6-week cancellation policy is followed. OPEN GYM All team gymnasts, Levels 3 and up, are welcomed and encouraged to attend "Open Gym". This is an excellent opportunity to work on skills - not to fool around. Open Gym is a privilege and can be revoked if abused. Pre-team gymnasts may use "Open Gym" time as specified in their schedule. PRACTICE SCHEDULE There are some problems occasionally with gymnasts not being picked up on time necessitating that staff stay past gym hours. Please do not be late. Parents will be billed private lesson charges in increments of 15 minutes if you cannot pick up your child by gym closing time. INTRASQUAD MEET This meet will be held sometime in November or December. OTHER MEETS Other meets will be determined by the meet schedule you will receive in October. TEAM LEOTARDS, WARM UP SUITS AND GYM BAGS Willow Tree uniforms are
required for the competitive team and must be ordered through the office. TEAM PICTURES The date, sometime in October or November will be announced. BANQUET A team banquet/party will be
held in June or July. PARENT GROUP Fundraising - Willow Tree does not have an organized parent group. Parents who wish to fundraise for the season may do so through their own efforts. Willow Tree will not be involved in any fundraising activities. Hosting a Meeting at Willow Tree will occur throughout the season. Parents will be asked to volunteer their time to help run the meet. All proceeds from meets will go towards equipment and training.
Lockers are assigned by the office. It is the responsibility of the gymnasts to keep the room and her locker clean. You may purchase a lock if you desire.
The competitive program is organized and regulated by USA Gymnastics. The majority of the meets we attend will be sanctioned by the USAG. Therefore all competitive gymnasts, Level 3 and up, must be registered with the USAG. Willow Tree's competitive program is organized in the following manner: All Team Programs are year-round commitments. If a gymnast "takes a month off", her position on the team is not guaranteed. She mist be re-evaluated before being allowed back into the program. PRE-TEAM/LEVEL 3 (By invitation only) requires a minimum of 3 hours a week of gymnastics and "Open Gym" is offered at a time specified in the schedule. Level 4 (Beginning Competition) is the first level of competition. Our program requires a minimum of 6 hours of gymnastics and "Open Gym" at any time is available at no additional fee. A gymnast may be moved into Level 4 before she has acquired all of the skills necessary for every event. At this level, she may compete in one or all 4 events. Level 5 & 6 are compulsory levels. Routines are choreographed by USAG. Levels 5 &6 practice a minimum of 8 hours per week and are permitted to attend "Open Gym" at any hour of operation. Levels 7, 8, 9, 10 & Novice Optional. At these levels, gymnasts practice a minimum of 10 hours per week. All optional gymnasts must purchase "optional floor music" and have a routine choreographed by Ruth.
